What does Mileage Minders do?
Mileage Minders simplifies the mileage keeping process by offering a service in which the client calls in and leaves a voicemail with their mileage details. We then take this data and enter it on a customized spreadsheet available to the customer upon demand.
How are they different?
We are committed to providing clients with an easy solution to keeping their mileage logs. We are flexible and not only provide customized logs but can also include other realated expenses in the spreadsheet. We also offer a reminder service to keep our clients on track – not only for their mileage but they can include other important dates such as birthdays or vehicle maintenance.
Why could Mileage Minders be BIG?
Millions of people in Canada and the US are self employed and able to claim mileage on their taxes. Many more are re-imbursed through their employers.
It is necessary to have your mileage log up to date and kept accurately to benefit from it. However, it is an item that can sometimes be forgotten or not recorded properly. Many mileage logs are kept in daytimers, on scraps of paper to be tabulated later, or are simply forgotten about. Our service offers these millions of people an easy alternative. that requires a phone call and no paperwork. With a potential client base of millions of mileage keepers this could get really, really big once the service is well known to the general public.
How they plan to make money:
We charge $20 per 50 ‘travel reports’ or 40 cents each. Most of our expenses are static and do not change, such as the phone bill that has a long distance plan etc. We also know the average cost of a ‘travel report’ based on the time it takes to record. The money in this business will come by the number of clients we are making happy. The more clients the more profit.
Our thoughts:
No thoughts at the moment. Very interesting!
What in ingenious idea! Necessity really is the mother of invention, and Sheila Willis has invented a great solution for all of us who need to track mileage for tax purposes.
