What does Greenscroll do?

Greenscroll is a non-profit organization created to fight climate change in the real world, on the battlefield of the virtual one. Recognizing the growing environmental footprint of the Internet and the infrastructure involved in running it, Greenscroll’s mission is to power the Internet by green renewable energy and help save the Earth. We do so by helping you make your website environmentally friendly. On your behalf, we pump green energy into the grid to power your website and hence the Internet.

How are they different?

We are the only NON-profit doing this; encouraging people to help create a sustainable Internet.

Why could Greenscroll be BIG?

The use of the Internet, digital tools, products, web access etc. is increasing every day. All that energy has to come from somewhere and it won’t be fossil fuels for ever!

How they plan to make money:

We ask people to pledge from $5 to $100 a month that we invest in Renewable Energy Certificates.

Our thoughts:

Really, really like this idea. We believe many web startups usually say, “Oh, well we’re a web startup so there is really no way we can be green.” Your company has convinced us to choose a solar-powered hosting company when we upgrade in the future – thanks and best of luck!
